New Years resolution a rug a week

I am starting great lets see how I can keep up.
I just got a new order for a great americana oval rug for under a kitchen table 50 inches by 42 inches I now am gathering the fabric to make it it will take about 80 pounds of fabric for completion. I will post progress as I find fabric. So far all I have found is a great set of king ralph lauren washed dark red sheets , and a large selection of mens dark blue dress shirts, and of course i have a small stash of tans and creams on hand need some rust , golden rod gold , dark roof green , and some medium blue so I am on a search.
I am also finishing up a great creamy multi oval rug as soon as i get the photo taken i will post here.

This rainy weather isn't very inspirational

This week has been very uninspirational weather wise. So I have been cutting strips and rolling balls to get inspired. My husband finally said are you just gonna sell balls next year. Duhhhh!!! Like they would sell.
So I have read a book , cleaned , packed away summer clothes , rolled more fabric . I think this must be a rag lady block , like a writers block.
I have some great ideas but of course no fabric in those colors. I recently have been bombarded with pinks and blues . They really arent winter household rug colors. I guess I am going to make 2 sets of oval rugs out of the blues i think they will be okay but i am still baffled by all the pinks.
I am adding a new line to my portfolio of upcycled crafts. I am still trying to figure out my pricing but plan on launching on December 13th at our local Holly Homes tour.
Well I must go bang my head off the wall , cant even go for a nice stroll its raining again.ugggggggg

WHAT DID i CREATE TODAY?

i ACTUALLY FINISHED A SMALL PROJECT .THE PICTURE IS ABOVE.

This is a small about 18 inch vintage fabric from aprons of the 50's. It is so very strong I even machine washed and dried it to make sure as always. Our fabrics are tried and true strength tested just for you.

I am asking $15.99 shipped anywhere in USA , outside USA it will be actual shippin charges. It is kind of har to see form the phot but the colors are greyish , off white , cream , white , and the aging of 2 of the aprons almot gives it a slight tea dyed affect. it is thinner than my usual rugs and would be perfect on a library table under a center piece or alone , on a phone stand , on an oak dk under your laptop it just turned out so great and so durable. It is a must have for an antique or country home accent.

Well enough on that. What I am working on next is called an Ocean of Blue , It is varied colors of blues with a couple hints of lavende and green just to give it an aquamarine feel.

It is going to be an oval rug , I am currently into the cutting of the fabric strips , hope to have 120 yards done tommorrow so I can get itall sorted and rolled into balls. So On Thursday I can begin crocheting the balls.

I dont like cold weather buttheir is nothing better than sitting by The old cookstove in the warmth crocheting by candle light imagining Iwas one of our countrys first settlers or homesteaders man wouldn't that have been so amazing a period for our country.

No convience stores , no splurge shopping everything was planned. No children getting poisoned or pets dising from tainted petfood. They knew what they ate because they grew it picked it raised it or gathered it then canned , root cellered it , or dried it. HMMMMMMM smell the smoke house now.

Hey all I have to get back to work. Woshhhhhhhh can you hear the wind whipping against the side of the house.

Oh winter is coming so soon

Hi all miine fine northern friends. Winter is on its way . We have had ice on our windows the last 2 mornings in a row. The chickens are foreaging more. The corn fields are beginning to get bare. Silos are full , corncribs are filling. Beef are fattening. Oh fall is here and winter is on its way here in PA.

Well enough of my strange little poems which can be purchased as a greeting card on etsy or i can be seen on ebay.

I am also beginning to sell my rep kits on www.lutlot.com as well as wholesale bundles on there of hot pads , scrubbies , rugs , and chair pads

I know times are tough ll over the USA but for those in warm states be thankful you are paying to heat your home.

this is a great cream color i just love the way it turned out and had to share. as you all know i used repurposed fabrics this was uniform tops. it is so soft and would be so great in a french country seting or a bed and breakfast or a powder room

I am so hoping this fall bring bring sales my way .. We are trying so hard to make ends meet. Heating bills will be huge this year. We have ordered some extra insulation for the basement hopefully that helps.

Any way this rug was finished today and is burgandy & tan oval hand torn and crocheted rag strips. it is machine washable. measures 26.5 inches by 21 inches. and would make a great additin to any home.

garth brooks rag rug crocheted

Wow I just finished one of the uniquest custom orders i have ever been asked to complete.

A lady who had a huge assortment of garth brook tshirts asked me to make a rug for her from them.

I did have to add some other white tshirts to make it large enough for her but it is so awesome

I made it oval to go infront of her sink. the shirts were mostly white with red and blue writing but there was one with dots and one with tan writing. was a pleasure to work with a collection like that to make it into a functionable piece.
